Transitions
Dear friends,
As many of you know, I have had the true honor of serving National City Christian Church as intentional interim Senior Minister since June of 2020. I do not have sufficient words to convey the gratitude I feel for National City; I will be forever grateful.
In addition to serving National City, much of my time these past few years has been spent building Invested Faith. Invested Faith is a fund set up to receive the assets of churches, many at the end of their institutional life cycles, and to redistribute those assets to support the work of faith-rooted social entrepreneurs who are building businesses that are changing unjust systems. Invested Faith has grown from an idea to a truly impactful effort, in large part because of the encouragement and support of so many of you. That work continues!
My next adventure will land me in my home state, Hawaii. For 2023 I will live in Honolulu to help support my parents as they navigate significant health crises, making regular trips back to the mainland to speak and build the work of Invested Faith. I look forward to continuing and growing that work in partnership with many of you.
And, on February 12, I’ll begin in the pulpit at Community Church of Honolulu, a UCC congregation, as interim pastor for 2023. Because I believe so deeply in the power of transformative community, I feel especially grateful for the opportunity to continue preaching regularly and to learn to love and walk alongside another amazing community of faith.
My book will be published in October 2023, and I am quite sure there are even more adventures ahead. Thanks for joining me on the journey!
With much gratitude,
