Building a Fund to Seed the Future

Join the Invested Faith Community as we re-imagine the role of faith in healing our world.

The world changes when people believe that something different can take root and they take a chance to make it so. It’s time to make a difference.

In donating to Invested Faith, you give encouragement and financial support to budding spiritual entrepreneurs like Alisha Gordon of The Current Project, Jacob Klink from Equiticity, Naz Georgas of Cordoba House Sunday School, and Kit Evans Ford from Argrow’s House, all pictured here getting together for lunch in NYC to swap stories and best practices. Read more about our Fellows here.

A donation to Invested Faith supports fellows like Tiffany Terrell, co-founder of A Better Way Grocers.

The mission of A Better Way Grocers is to drive nutritious food into communities struggling with food access issues across southwest Georgia. Using a retro-fitted school bus as a one-aisle grocery store, Terrell and her team offer reasonably priced, healthy and nutritious food to local communities, along with health education to address chronic food-related illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol .

What is Invested Faith?

At Invested Faith, we are building a fund that will allow established religious institutions nearing the end of their life cycles to send their resources forward to support faith-rooted entrepreneurs who are working to directly change unjust systems while building a sustainable financial model.

We award small unrestricted grants to these spiritual entrepreneurs, and we tell their stories to help communities see the diverse ways God is at work in the world. Read about our current Invested Faith Fellows here.

Through Invested Faith, we want to support, sustain, and amplify the stories of God’s work in the world, including the gospel work being done beyond the stained-glass windows we find so familiar.

“The idea of small, unrestricted grants to social spiritual entrepreneurs is based on a biblical model, the teachings of Jesus, who kept inviting those around him to see the world with new eyes filled with possibility and to scatter seeds of goodness and justice with abandon fueled by hope. While this approach pushes back at traditional American philanthropic models, I believe it is not only faithful to the call of Jesus but also innovative in a groundbreaking and forward-thinking way. After two years of building this model, I am even more convinced of its powerful potential to change the way we imagine the Church in America,” ~Rev. Dr. Amy Butler, Founder of Invested Faith

We have two big goals for our Giving Campaign this year:

  • Fully fund 20 new Invested Faith Fellows for 2023. In just two years, we have funded 23 Fellows. In 2023, we hope to fund 20 in just one year. A gift of $5000 fully funds one new Invested Faith Fellow.

  • Fully fund our RESOURCED support program for our Fellows. This peer support group and coaching program allows our Fellows to meet each other, to share stories and best practices, and  to learn from experts in the non-profit and small business world. It’s a long-term program that provides support throughout the long journey to success. 90% of social enterprises fail. Many short-term, faith- based accelerators are popping up, but long -term support is essential to ensure the continued success of our Fellows. RESOURCED is our way of saying “We believe in you. You can do this., Here’s some help.”  We need $50,000 to fully staff and fund RESOURCED. Every gift helps!
